Ethics Session Description:

The work environment, whether in the public or private sector, can include a variety of pressures to perform.  There are deadlines, unrealistic expectations on the part of applicants or client, and a desire on the part of decision-makers to resolve all issues and achieve a speedy approval.  Some of these pressures can raise ethical issues for the planner.  This session will cover how to identify an issue that calls your ethics into question, ways to think about ethical options, and how to resolve questions consistent with the provisions of the AICP Code of Ethics.  Participants will review ethics scenarios, and working in small groups, prepare a response and share their insights with the larger group for review and reflection.
